The purpose of this sandbox demo is to allow you to experience the actual speed and ease involved in deploying VESencrypt.
Each of the 4 Sections will have static and dynamic messages and alerts to guide you through the setup process. Some of these alerts will be part of the normal VESencrypt setup process, others will be additional, and specific to the sandbox.
In the above drop down menu for A) Service; select either option.
Encryption may result in data truncation. Based on the largest value found, we recommend increasing the DB column size to at least ….
All current values in this column fit within the maximum allowable length. If you expect longer data in the futrure, you may need to increase the column width.
This section allows you to apply the Encryption Settings saved in the previous section, either encrypting or decrypting,
in bulk to all data in the selected columns. It is not necessary to take the database offline when applying the bulk action as it will work in concert with normal database operations.
Sandbox Instructions
In the Update tab, select the columns then select START to initiate a bulk Encryption Settings changes for those columns.
Then, in each of the dual DB console windows do the following steps to view the encrypted columns in the DB:
In the menu on the left, click on the SELECT option to display the table on the right side of the console.
View the credit card and social security columns.
The Console going through the VESencrypt Proxy will decrypt the data and show the real information while the Console not using the Proxy will show illegible encrypted content.
